Combat

Turn-Based Combat

Battles are fully turn-based, blending classic Final Fantasy strategy with modern systems. Exact mechanics (ATB-style bars, brave/default-style twists, limit bursts…) have not been detailed yet.

Summons

Classic Final Fantasy summons return in Resonance. Which summons appear and how they integrate into combat is still to be revealed.

FFBE legacy: In Brave Exvius, summons are espers earned through trials and bonded to the party — Siren, Ifrit, Shiva, Ramuh, Odin, Bahamut and more.

Known Bosses

Boss: Ultima Arma

Ultima Arma has been shown as one of Resonance's major boss encounters — a returning threat for Brave Exvius veterans.

FFBE legacy: In Brave Exvius, the Aigaion/Arma war machines were infamous high-difficulty trial bosses.

Presentation & World

HD-2D Presentation

Resonance is the first Final Fantasy rendered in HD-2D — detailed pixel-art characters inside diorama-like 3D environments with modern lighting, the style pioneered by Octopath Traveler and the Dragon Quest III remake.

Chocobos & Moogles

The series' beloved mascots are both present — expect chocobos for traversal flavor and moogles around shops, saves or services, as tradition demands.
